Is the JNIMS Hospital Haunted?

If reports are to be believed, the gynaecology department in the JNIMS hospital (located in Porompat, Imphal East, Manipur) is haunted. The exact spot where the strongest paranormal activity has been reported is the area from the toilet and the entire stretch of the corridor leading to it from the ward. (from e-pao.net)

Affected people describe the experience of sensing the presence of someone close by, or tingling sensations, or changes in temperature, or heavy footsteps following them when there was clearly not a single person in that are, that is apart from the victims themselves. These experiences have been related mostly by attendants of patients, but it seems the staff on night duty have had similar experiences. What makes this story relevant is how such activities, which only be described as paranormal, affect the attendants of seriously ill people.

It is traumatic enough tending after near and dear ones and to top it all face paranormal activity could be nerve wracking. One step to clam frayed nerves could be establish the facts, that is, whether paranormal activity is going on or not in that ward. Even if is established that such activities do take place it could comfort a lot of people. The human mind is such that once faced with the inevitable it adjusts to live with it.

The answer would lie in finding intrepid people who can operate electronic voice sensors, detect movement and record temperature fluctuations. One believes temperature changes which take place suddenly are indicative of paranormal activity. These can be done at the dead of night, and anyway the scary happenings, it seems, take place only late in the night. The ambience of a hospital should be such that it soothes frayed nerves. The very presence of doctors, nurses and other competent staff should provide succour to those who feel their life is at the end of the tether. It should be a place of treatment and convalescence, a place where supportive kith, kin and good friends go to see people in distress. Fear of the unknown, particularly the scary type could be pernicious to inmates and their attendants, and in this superstition laden society of ours, the next thing we could be witnessing is bizarre spiritual cleansing exercises or downright exorcisms.

On the other hand we also do not want a scenario where you have a seriously ill patient who needs constant attention, scared as hell at the idea of dying, only to find his or her attendant coming back from the toilet ashen faced, trembling like a leaf and needing more medical attention than he or she does.
Or worse still who literally dropped dead out of horror and shock.

Spooky St. Helens: Haunted Side of Highway 30

A local shop owner in St. Helens is convinced that most of the paranormal activity in St. Helens is concentrated in the Old Town area from the old theater to the old Klondike Hotel at the end of South 1st Street. His knowledge is based on personal experience.
One night as the shop owner worked late hanging things, a hammer was laid down to grab something; but when the shopkeeper went to grab it again, it was gone! Knowing the ways of prankster spirits, the keeper demanded the return of the hammer by scolding the spirit and magically it reappeared! The trickster like occurrences led our source to believe the spirit of a small child inhabits the shop.
This claim seems to be corroborated by Robert Chamberlin, the founding member and president of Northwest Paranormal Investigations, a group that seeks out and documents strange activity in the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Chamberlin has investigated the Klondike Restaurant (71 S. 1st Street) and has found paranormal activity throughout the old hotel. "One upstairs room in particular was striking in that his team had sensed a feeling of death. It was very strong and more than one person picked up on it... We took photos and had some spirit orbs on them. We were later told that a gentleman had died a tragic death in that room."
Other paranormal hotspots  include the high school auditorium called "The Old School" in St. Helens, which is haunted by a woman named Vera who died there and has been seen messing around in the lighting booth. The site also lists the Kinder Cemetery, located on the north side of Highway 30, which is inhabited by an old ghost named George who when angry has been known to push and slap people!

Most Haunted Place in Singapore - The Old Changi Hospital (OCH)

Old Changi Hospital (OCH) in Singapore is one of the most haunted places in the world. Built in the 1930s, it is located at Netherveron Road in Changi Village.

During World War II, Japanese forces invaded Singapore and the beaches of Changi were soaked in the blood beheaded civilians and prisoners of war. The Japanese military took the original Changi buildings and made it their headquarters. There were many rumors of horrific torture chambers and the bloody executions of POWs. After the war, the Japanese themselves became the executed and paid for their war crimes with their own blood in the same Changi area.

In the 1950's the former military barracks were turned into a public hospital. A perpetual portal for life and death, the premises was proclaimed haunted by the public throughout the years. Witnesses claimed to see ghosts, Japanese soldiers and even pontianaks -- a Malay vampire. Some locals even believed that suffering through a serious injury was better than going to the haunted Changi hospital for medical attention.
In 1994, the original Changi Hospital moved its location. The buildings have been abandoned ever since 1997, only to be vandalized by those who dare enter. It's been reported that some explorers never come back out. But for Singapore thrill-seekers, the attraction to Old Changi Hospital is always there.
Spirits of different races and nationalities have been reported wandering around the premises.

"Ghosts" Found at County Museum

A group of investigators from Weymouth have released the findings of their investigation into paranormal activity in Dorset County Museum in Dorchester. They have photos which they believe to be of "hanging" Judge Jeffreys and local fossil collector Mary Anning in the museum's main hall. The PIT believe this image is the ghostly figure of Judge Jeffreys. Judge George Jeffreys died in 1689 and Mary Anning in 1847.

The team used infra red cameras, barrier alarms and EMF meters during their investigation. EMF meters measure electromagnetic fields. They are scientific instruments that are often also used by people with an interest in the paranormal. "What we've found now is amazing - we're really chuffed," said case manager Trudy Jordan of the PIT (Paranormal Investigation Team) group. "It wasn't until we looked at the footage afterwards that you could actually make out the figure of a man.... You can make your own mind up but it's so detailed," she said. "We also have a photo of a woman with a cape going round her shoulders, and no head."
